This new program was established to provide free spay/neuter and a rabies shots to feral (wild) and outdoor, stray cats that are reproducing in the City of Lynchburg in the following zip codes: 24501, 24502 and 24504.   We have enough funds to fix 2,000 cats for free. All feral cats will have their ear tipped.  Please consider making a donation towards this program so we can continue to offer this service past the 2,000.
For information on Trap, Neuter and Return and Feral Cats please visit our Feral Cat pages.
Ferals how to be a part of the solution.

How to participate:  If you live in the City of Lynchburg and you reside in one of the established zip codes you should stop by the Lynchburg Humane and do one of two things.

Pick up a voucher for the free surgery, rabies shot and ear tipping and make your own appointment at the South Central Spay/Neuter Clinic.

Make an appointment through us and have the cat transported on a Wednesday morning to the clinic from our shelter. We will work with you if you cannot catch the cat right away.

Yes, we will fix Kittens as young as 3 months/3 lbs.
Proof of residency will need to be established so please bring with you a picture id with your address or a bill with your name on it.

If you live in 24503 we can still help you with your feral cat problems, please contact us to learn about no cost options for you as well.
Do you need a trap or help trapping? We have 25 traps available through our new program.  We can also provide education on how to trap and informational handouts to assist you in catching the feral (wild) cats in your neighborhood.  We will ask for a deposit check of $50 that will be held and given back to you when you return the trap.

For additional information or questions please contact us at or call 846-1438 ext. 10.

We only have enough funding to fix 2,000 cats, if you would like to make a donation so we can continue this program please contact
